COUSINS IN THE SPIRIT: ANGELS OF IRAN

Sina Sabet, a Baha'i youth living in Dallas shares the injustices faced by his cousin, Raha Sabet. Raha is serving a four year prison term in Shiraz, Iran, for teaching children's classes together with several Baha'i and Muslim youth. All of the Muslims and most of the Baha'is have been released. As of May 2011, Raha remains in prison. Inspired by his cousin's courageous example, Sina works with youth groups he helped establish in the Dallas metropolitan area.

Project Raha Part 1: Training at the camp: Dallas Baha'i Center

In the memory and honor of Raha Sabet, one of the 3 Baha'i youth prisoners in Shiraz, we named it "Project Raha."
54 Baha'i youth used to go to a deprived area of the city to help their fellow underprivileged muslim citizens of Iran with health, school, etc. The Iranian government arrested all these Baha'is and sentenced three of them, Raha Sabet, Haleh Ruhi, and Sasan Taqva to 4 years imprisonment! Their only crime is being a Baha'i and helping their society and people.
Project Raha was a Baha'i Junior Youth/Youth Project over Spring Break 2009 in Dallas, TX. There were 13 Junior Youths(11-14) from all over the DFW metroplex; and 7 youth (15-25) participants.
